Physician Side Gigs, an online community of more than 195,000 physicians, laid out physician on-call compensation statistics in a recent report using data from the group’s salary and compensation negotiation databases.

Here are five statistics to know:

1. On-call is mandatory for 75% of physicians.

2. Sixty-five percent of physicians are not being paid for being on-call, while 75% of physicians do call from home.

3. Of the data analyzed, 10% to 25% from-home calls require going in.

4. Paid on-call can bring in an average of $45,000 a year.
