Freeing up clinician time is no easy task, but Geisinger’s move towards automation has cut down on the operational and administrative workload burden. Bots now do much of the mundane documentation and reporting work. It’s part of a strategic plan the Pennsylvania health system began pre-COVID-19, says Emily Fry, vice president of Innovation Operations at Geisinger.
