The strategy to support family caregivers includes actions on the federal level as well as for state and local governments.

The Department of Health and Human Services has published its first-ever National Strategy to Support Family Caregivers, including action items for federal agencies, state and local government, and private sector actors to support caregivers and family engagement.

This move comes in response to the growing number of caregivers who provide support for loved ones and clients. Being a caregiver is a difficult and often low- or no-wage job, putting a strain on the health, wellbeing, and financial support of those fulfilling that role, HHS said.
