Every New Year’s Eve, the traditional song is sung as we raise a toast to bid goodbye to the old year and usher in the new. Even if you don’t know the words, you usually sing along heartily as if you did.

“Should old acquaintance be forgot

And never brought to mind?

In the days of auld lang syne?”

The phrase “Auld Lang Syne” is a Scottish phrase that translates to “old long since” or “for old times’ sake.” I love hearing that song every year and feelings of the nostalgia it invokes.
