The prominent Pennsylvania health system is going all in with Amazon Web Services in a move it sees as helping improve access to and quality of care.

Geisinger has selected Amazon Web Services as its cloud vendor. The Danville, Pennsylvania-based health system will transition its entire digital portfolio of more than 400 applications and numerous workflows to AWS.

This deal marks one of the biggest electronic health record moves to AWS so far. Earlier this week, Tufts Medicine announced its own sprawling cloud migration.

Geisinger conducted a detailed, multi-year review and selection process. The health system concluded transitioning to AWS would help it in saving several million dollars annually after implementation is completed.
