Former ONC chief Dr. Don Rucker joins interoperability startup

Donald Rucker, MD, has been named chief strategy officer of 1upHealth, a cloud-based Fast Healthcare Interoperability Resources platform.

Three details:

1. Dr. Rucker recently served as national coordinator for the ONC for health IT, a position he held for nearly four years. At the ONC, he led the development and issuance of ONC’s 21st Century Cures Act Final Rule, which supports patient access and interoperability of health data. Dr. Rucker also co-developed Microsoft’s EHR, according to a news release.
