On April 1, 2020, the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) released the Marketplace open enrollment report for 2020. Overall, about 11.41 million consumers in all 50 states and the District of Columbia selected or were automatically reenrolled in Marketplace plans during the 2020 open enrollment period. Nearly 8.3 million consumers enrolled through the 38 states that use HealthCare.gov, and about 3.1 million consumers enrolled through the 13 states that operate their own Marketplaces. (An additional 880,000 individuals enrolled through the Basic Health Program in New York and Minnesota.)

Overall enrollment is down by only 0.3 percent from the 2019 open enrollment period when 11.44 million consumers selected or were automatically reenrolled in Marketplace coverage. Enrollment through HealthCare.gov essentially...
