Cybersecurity vulnerabilities known as URGENT/11 found in several operating systems could pose a serious risk to medical devices and hospitals, if exploited by a remote attacker, according to an alert from the Food and Drug Administration.
Announced Tuesday, health IT staff, patients, manufacturers, and other healthcare professionals should move to patch the flaw that could impact certain medical devices connected to the communications network, like Wi-Fi or the internet.
URGENT/11 is also found in other connected equipment, such as routers, connected phones, and other critical infrastructure equipment.
