The path to doctorhood is very good at making you a doctor — and it better be. That’s the whole point. Your education and training are what allow you to work and function as a doctor.

Through your training, you learn to skillfully care for patients in need. Residency and fellowship programs do a notoriously good job at fulfilling this goal.
