Plan selections during this year’s open enrollment season appear to have largely rebounded following a very slow start due to technical issues with HealthCare.gov. By way of reminder, the open enrollment period for 2020 began on November 1 and will end on December 15, 2019 in most states.

In its “week 2” enrollment snapshot, the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) announced that more than 932,000 consumers selected a plan between November 1 and November 9 in the 38 states that use HealthCare.gov. Of these consumers, nearly 245,000 were new consumers while about 687,000 were renewing their coverage from last year. This reflects a significant increase from the first two days of open enrollment when about 177,000 consumers...
