The wearable tool will make it easier for patients to share patient-generated health data.

A new partnership between EHR vendor Cerner and Amazon aims to make it easier for medical providers to obtain patient-generated health data from wearable technology, according to an announcement.

The deal centers around Amazon Halo, a new wearable from the ecommerce giant that can glean key patient metrics like activity levels, sleep quality, and body fat percentage. Patients can opt into having data from the wearable flow through the AWS Cloud and into the Cerner EHR and other Cerner technologies, like the HealtheLife patient portal.
