A new project out of the University of Wisconsin – Madison has received a $1 million funding opportunity to support social services referrals and the social determinants of health, the University has announced.

ConnectRx won the funding award as part of the Alliance for the American Dream Challenge, a contest sponsored by Eric and Wendy Schmidt to challenge university teams to create solutions that bolster America’s middle class.

Although challenge entries did not have to center on the social determinants of health or healthcare in general, ConnectRx zeros in on how social determinants of health affect all elements of American life.
