Apple used a press event Monday to introduce its latest iPhone 16 smartphones, along with updated Apple Watch and AirPods models.

Why it matters: The iPhone remains the tech industry’s single most important product and the key not only to Apple’s fortunes but for a range of players including wireless carriers and component makers.
