The B2B arm of Amazon is targeting the 20% of hospital non-clinical spend.

Ochsner Health System’s supply chain partnership with Amazon Business has allowed the New Orleans-based health system to have financially stable pricing on non-medical purchases.

“Financially, in some instances, we have saved money, in others we break even,” said Régine Honoré Villain, senior vice president of the Supply Chain Network and chief supply chain officer for Ochsner Health System. “We’re always looking for cost savings. We’ll look in multiple places. If it’s more at Amazon we say, we’ve been able to find this at Staples for $20. You’re selling it for $22. We’ll pay $20 or less. Every single time we’ve done that we’ve been successful.”
