Health documentation artificial intelligence company Abridge has raised $12.5 million in series A-1 funding.

The Abridge artificial intelligence-based documentation technology is designed to help reduce physician burnout by generating clinical documentation, extracting medical information and creating evidence-based notes from patient conversations, allowing physicians to spend less time on administrative work. The Abridge AI tool has been used by more than 2,000 clinicians, according to the Aug. 11 Abridge news release.

The series A-1 funding round was led by Wittington Ventures.
