From a “landmark policy change” to CVS Health announcing another round of layoffs, here are 10 updates on Aetna that Becker’s has reported since Aug. 13:
1. CVS Health will lay off 416 employees at Aetna’s headquarters in Hartford, Conn.
2. A Kansas judge denied Aetna’s petition for judicial review of the state’s Medicaid contract awards.
3. The HHS Office of Inspector General estimated that HealthAssurance Pennsylvania, an Aetna subsidiary, received $4.2 million in overpayments between 2017 and 2018.
4. Aetna and HCA Healthcare hospitals in Florida reached a new contract agreement, avoiding a split that would have left 48 hospitals out-of-network.
