On October 4, 2019, the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) released new medical loss ratio (MLR) data, announced its scheduled maintenance windows for HealthCare.gov for the 2020 open enrollment period, and provided a new resource for states interested in applying for a Section 1332 waiver. CMS also approved new entities to use the enhanced direct enrollment (EDE) pathway. Separately, the U.S. Government Accountability Office (GAO) released a report on the impact of the Affordable Care Act (ACA) on the Indian Health Service (IHS).
